Columbia Farmers Market

The summer season is in full blast over at Columbia University on New York's upper west side. Outside the Broadway gates every Thursday morning, vendors from New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey line up along the bustling sidewalks to sell their fresh produce and goods to busy New Yorkers and college students. I enjoyed walking along the sidewalk and seeing the different goods-- there was everything, from radishes and herbs just pulled from the farm to fresh-made pickles to bread and pastries just pulled out of the oven. Myself, I enjoyed a delicious apple cider donut for breakfast while I walked around. If you are in the area, I would highly recommend checking out this farmers market!

AMANDA'S
COOKING TIPS

#1

A clean kitchen is a happy kitchen.  Always keep your working surfaces clutter free.

#2

Cook with your instinct and not the cookbook.  Add in a little bit of yourself to make each dish unique.

#3

A splash of lemon, lime, or vinegar can brighten a dish immeasurably.
