White Bean Dip

One of my favorite things in the culinary world is packing a big flavor punch with simple ingredients and recipes. All you really need are good quality ingredients and you can turn nothing into something amazing. I tried to do just that with this dip. The ingredients are minimalistic and plain, however when preparing it in the right way, the flavors explode in your mouth. This is the perfect start to a meal and can be used with virtually anything. It’s a great substitute for French onion dip or even hummus. The recipe is below.
Ingredients:
- 1 can cannellini beans
- 1 tsp. thyme leaves
- 1 small onion
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1/2 a lemon
- pinch of salt and pepper
- paprika
Directions:
First, dice up the onion and garlic into small pieces and begin to sauté on medium high heat in a pan with olive oil. When the onion and garlic begin to develop color, add in the thyme leaves and mix together. Drain the canned cannellini beans and rinse with water to remove the excess salt. Add it into a food processor and pulse until smooth. Add in the sautéed onion and garlic, juice of half a lemon, and a pinch of salt and pepper and pulse again. Serve it up in a small bowl and top with paprika for color and flavor. Enjoy!
